Friday Challenge: 100 Happy Days!

This challenge seems simple but can be life changing!

The 100Happydays  challenge asks us to "try to appreciate the life that I have...and find at least one little thing each and every day that will make me feel happy and grateful."

As a part of the challenge, users can connect through instagram and twitter, posting a picture of something that makes them happy each day. It might be a delicious meal, a goofy pet, time with friends or a walk in a park!

Here's your Friday Challenge: Take a moment today to express your gratitude, and inspire other to do the same. Be a positive force in the world!

Friday Challenge: Walk in the woods

"Biogradska suma" by Snežana Trifunović

"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile...and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean."

John Muir

Today's Friday Challenge: make some time to go for a walk in the woods.

Clear your mind, breathe some fresh air, listen to the sounds around you...just be in the moment. You'll be glad you did!

Happy Friday!

Friday Challenge: Unlock The Power Of Connection

thegoldguys.blogspot.com/

“Connection is why we’re here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.”

Happy Friday!

Hug a loved one, smile at a stranger, play fetch with your pup! Get out there this weekend and connect with the world!

Friday Challenge -- This list might change your life!

I have such an exciting Friday Challenge for you this week!

How often does this happen to you: You're reminded of places you've been wanting to visit...things you keep meaning to try...when you get distracted, life gets in the way and the ideas are forgotten? Weeks or years later, you remember that you've always wanted to play the cello...and host a sushi-making party...and visit the Grand Canyon!

You've been thinking about doing these things for years! Now you become frustrated, and wonder what's stopping you from achieving your goals. Don't let one more day go by!

Here's your solution: 101 things in 1001 days!

The Day Zero Project gives you the chance to create a list with concrete goals and challenges with a timeline to keep you accountable. Sign up for free, then browse through the most popular and latest additions to jog your memory. I know 101 seems like a daunting number, but trust me, when your imagination starts to wander, that list fills up fast!

Goals can be as ambitious (Go skydiving! Run a 5K!) or easily attainable (Visit the park around the corner you always pass on your way to work!) as you'd like...it's your list! All that matters is that you're setting goals and achieving them.

If you follow the 1001 day format, you have some decent planning time for those more involved goals...so why not dream big? Three years is plenty of time to learn to tango, then visit Argentina!

Before you know it, you'll be sailing through your list and having a blast! You can also make notes and upload pictures of your adventures, so you'll end up with a great record of your journey. What have you got to lose?

Here are some of the most popular ideas from fellow day zero users, "largest community of goal setters in the world," that you can use for inspiration:

  1. See the Northern Lights
  2. Take a picture for each letter of the alphabet
  3. Get a passport
  4. Donate blood
  5. Write a letter to myself to open in 10 years
  6. Watch a sunrise and sunset in the same day
  7. Leave an inspirational note inside a book for someone to find
  8. Identify 100 things that make me happy
  9. Improve my posture
  10. Go to 5 different museums
  11. Expand my vocabulary by 100 words
  12. Attend Bonnaroo
  13. Visit Norway
  14. Have dinner by candlelight
  15. Don't log into Facebook for a week
  16. Say "Yes" to something I would not normally do
  17. Host a dinner party
  18. No fast food for a month
  19. Go on a roadtrip
  20. Ask 20 friends to suggest one book, and read them all
I just started my second list recently, and I'm really looking forward to the next three years!

Inspired to make a list of your own? Fun stories about working through a list? Tell me about it in the comments! (And I'll share some of my goals, too!)

Random Acts of Kindness: Friday Challenge!

Want to know the quickest and easiest way to put a little good into the world?

For today's challenge, go out of your way to do something nice for someone else. It doesn't have to be a grand, complicated gesture! Sometimes it's the smallest, seemingly insignificant actions -- smiling at someone while you're waiting in line, asking the bank teller how their day is going, cooking your family a healthy meal -- that can be a huge deal to someone having a rough day.

Need some inspiration? Check out Random Acts of Kindness. They have hundreds of suggestions, including:

  • Use a reusable grocery bag (Easy peasy!)
  • Send someone a homemade card (Mail that isn't a bill? Best surprise ever!)
  • Donate some clothes you haven't touched in years (Spring cleaning, anyone?)
  • Turn the lights off when you leave the room (Get a pat on the back from Earth!)
  • Become an organ donor (Maybe you'll save a life! That's superhero status!)

Give it a try! Did you take the Random Acts of Kindness Challenge? How'd it go? Give us the scoop in the comments.

Have a great weekend everyone!

"Learn to appreciate the things you have before time forces you appreciate the things you once had."

Why not take some time this weekend to appreciate the good in your life? Whether that means letting a loved one know how grateful you are for their presence in your life, or taking some time out of your daily routine to look for the changes that arrive with spring, give yourself the opportunity to express gratitude. Not only will you feel better, but it may help improve someone else's day, too!
